Lamb Steak Burgers
Ingredients (Serves 4):
4 x 100g trim lamb leg steaks
3 large red onions, halved and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Olive oil cooking spray
4 HermanBurger Protein Buns
2 tablespoons low-fat hommus
40g baby spinach leaves
2 tomatoes, sliced
225g can beetroot slices, drained
Instructions:
Step 1: Combine onions and oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on HIGH (100%) for 3 minutes to soften. Preheat BBQ grill or grill plate to medium-high.
Step 2: Cook onions on grill plate/BBQ for 5 minutes until browned and soft. Cover and keep warm.
Step 3: Spray both sides of lamb steaks with oil. Season. Cook on BBQ/Grill plate for 3 minutes each side. Cover and keep warm.
Step 4: Lightly toast HermanBurger Protein Buns (if desired) and spread with hommus. Then layer with spinach, tomatoes, beetroot, steaks and onion. Serve with side salad or fries.
