  • Sweet French Toast with Herman Brot Sourdough

    Ingredients (Serves 1):

     Herman Brot Sourdough 95g ( two thick cut slices)
    Low fat Milk ¼ Cup
    Egg 1
    Vanilla extract 1 Tablespoon
    Butter 1 Teaspoon
    Honey 20g
    Strawberries 50g
    Blueberries 50g
    Cinnamon 1 Tablespoon
    Salt pinch

    Optional Extras:  (not pictured)

    Greek Yoghurt 50g
    Crushed Pistachios 10g



    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Egg Mixture:
      In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well blended.
    2. Dip the Bread:
      Dip each slice of Herman Brot Sourdough into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 1-2 minutes on each side to ensure both sides are well coated and absorb the mixture.
    3. Cook the French Toast:
      Melt the butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the soaked bread slices in the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until both sides are golden brown and slightly crispy.
    4. Prepare the Fruit:
      While the bread is cooking, slice the strawberries and set them aside along with the blueberries.
    5. Assemble the French Toast:
      Once the French toast is ready, plate it and drizzle with honey, and top with berries and a little more cinnamon
    6. Optional Extras for Extra Indulgence (not pictured or in nutrition calculation) :
      • Add a spoonful of Greek yoghurt on top or on the side for a rich, tangy touch.
      • Sprinkle crushed pistachios over yogurt
